The background adapts a chromolithograph print by Dr. M. Wilhelm Meyer, of the Northern Lights observed from Northern Lights observed from southern Scandinavia in the 1870s. Originating in Germany in 1798, chromolithography is the printmaking process that brought colour to the masses.
